Today I embark on a new journey, and I hope that you will come and join me every once in a while. I have spent some time interacting in the blogosphere, mainly for missions trips and for keeping people posted on the continuing news of ministry in Ufa, Bashkortostan. But today, I begin my own personal blog.
You might be asking, “Why blog?” Well, I want this to be an opportunity to fill in the gaps of your awareness of who I am, to talk about things that I might not get to talk about from the pulpit because of time constraints, appropriateness or simply because it would put people to sleep. I also want you to get to know me, my family, my loves and of course my strange sense of humor (ask my wife about that one!)
I have set as my goal a blog post for every day. Some will be short (a paragraph or two) and others will be articles on some aspect of life and ministry. Sometimes it will be to tell a story, at other times it will be commenting on a particularly significant point of theology, or it may simply be me being goofy.
Now, what I need from you is participation. Comments, as I think you will understand, will always be monitored and approved, but I want to hear your thoughts and ideas as I propose mine. It is O.K. to disagree as long as we are willing to be Christ-like in our disagreement.
So, welcome and join me as often as you can…
Rod

I disagree.
;D
Hey Wendy…good to hear from you…
I really appreciate your openness Rod
Rod, I love this! I will be reading it weekly. I always value your wisdom (goofy as it can be at times) and look forward to learning my things.
I read a quote today…”The true expression of Christianity is not a sigh, but a song.” Isn’t that true? Our lives should be a song, a pleasant song, to all who encounter use each day.
How’s your singing been lately?
Love you guys, Linda Bellehumeur
Your “A Godly Jealousy” article is right on target with what Pastor Randy has been preaching the past couple of months in the Book of Acts. Since our move into the gym, our growth in numbers (not dynamic but steady), and our enlarged classrooms he has been burdened to get the church on fire for outreach. We don’t want other churches people (unless that’s the Lord’s leading for them); we want converts. The field is ripe for the harvest. Are we ready to work?
I love BFC but we have a lot of people who just want to leave things as the status quo. They like the family as it is. We gotta get moving.
Pray for Pastor Randy as he tries to light that fire through the Holy Spirit’s assistance in our church.
Linda Bellehumeur
Linda,
I am so thrilled that the move took place and that God is at work at BFC. My heart often thinks of my dear brothers and sisters who ministered to me while serving as their Pastor. I still in awe of how God moved Randy to be your pastor after God called me to CA. Seriously, we can’t choreograph life any better than the creator and sustainer of the universe.
God bless,
Rod
Rod,
You guys look great! I’m impressed that Elia still looks like she is in her 20’s, but I’m guessing she has no choice in order to keep after you and the kids.
I’m looking forward to your blog.
Sarah
Hi Pastor,
Thanks for dropping in on our SSS class (senior sunday school) with your two body guards Robert A. & John G. We felt pretty good about that knowing your agenda was really all about Isaiah 30 and getting a free cup of Peets Coffee. It never crossed our mind that you would be conversing about a rock band taking the place of the organ, piano, and Jews harp used in the second service, labeled “Traditional”. We were really scared when you took off your coat and stood on the table top and admonished us sheep to a fair the well! You know that California is hyper liberal and that incident bordered on a good case for Elder Abuse. Upon convection for same you could have to spend upwards to 3 days, confined to your den with no computer privileges. Hope to see you tonite at the Board meeting and I’m bringing my body guard, Eric.
