Have you read Dante's "The divine Comedy"? rodin based many of his sculptures on this. In case you did not know the thinker is said to be Dante while composing " The divine Comedy".

Hi, Pastor Rod.

It was nice that mom and I could run into you at Panera.

Thanks for all of the messages at CV First. I really appreciate all of the spiritual growth that I have experienced through the messages at church.

I have seen that quote from Spurgeon but have not been able to find its source. Do you know where among his published works, sermons, etc. I could find that quote?
Thanks

While the painting speaks of the crushing burden of poverty, it also speaks to me of God's hand in a family that literally pulls together in the face of poverty. Contrast this with the plight of families throughout America today and you see the marked difference that faith, or the lack thereof makes. We are an "advanced" society, but we have not conquered poverty, hunger, disease or any of the other age-old threats to well being (our advancements seem to be limited to isolation and insulation). Instead, this nation increasingly turns away from God, and the most telling symptom is the splintering and disintegration of the family. You will be hard pressed to see a scene similar to this in our nation, but it wouldn't be for the lack of poverty.

Thanks Rod, that was really nice... We are of approximately the same generation (I think), but I was unaware of these men. As I watched and listened, I could not help but think, if only every Christian could discover and present in such a clear and resounding fashion the spiritual gifts that God bestows upon us... what a irrefutable testimony THAT would be!

Hi Pastor,
Thanks for dropping in on our SSS class (senior sunday school) with your two body guards Robert A. & John G. We felt pretty good about that knowing your agenda was really all about Isaiah 30 and getting a free cup of Peets Coffee. It never crossed our mind that you would be conversing about a rock band taking the place of the organ, piano, and Jews harp used in the second service, labeled "Traditional". We were really scared when you took off your coat and stood on the table top and admonished us sheep to a fair the well! You know that California is hyper liberal and that incident bordered on a good case for Elder Abuse. Upon convection for same you could have to spend upwards to 3 days, confined to your den with no computer privileges. Hope to see you tonite at the Board meeting and I'm bringing my body guard, Eric.
